A First for Everything

Brooks' had his first haircut at 18 months (back in April).  He didn't know what in the world that lady was doing to him.  But when he got his sucker, he was good for a while.

Yeah, all done.  What a cute little first haircut!!!
This is Madelyn and Brooks' first popsicle!  Yes, I know, crazy.  Madelyn is 3 and Brooks is 19 months.  This was back in May.  I am seriously playing catch up on my blog!

Madelyn went to the movie for the first time with her friend Clay back in June.  She was beside herself.  She loved it and as you can see she loved the popcorn and sprite as well.  It was so packed, her first experience was on the very first row!

Bye bye Clay, enjoyed it!

Fun Times at the Beach

We went to Ft. Walton Beach about two weeks ago and had a blast.  It was Brooks' first trip to the beach.  He did not really love the sand but enjoyed playing by the little pool I had brought.  The best $4.99 I have ever spent.

He would sit in his chair and play next to the pool for hours.  It was so funny, he did not want to touch the sand with his feet or sit in the pool.
Time out on the beach!

Mother and Daughter
Me, Madelyn, and Allie enjoyed one late afternoon on the beach while Patrick and Brooks played in the condo!

Father and Daughter
Good family photos are hard to come by!
Madelyn absolutely loving this pool!
Brooks asleep in his chair, our sign that it was time to go up for lunch and naps!

Our night out - thank you Allie!

This is our best attempt at a family photo, the ones we took on the beach the last morning were horrible!
Patrick and Mini Patrick (Brooks)

So Madelyn left the scene, she was complaining about the sun in her eyes.  Maybe we should have tried 7 am versus 9 am so the sun would not have been as bright!  We had a great trip and look forward to many more family beach trips!!

Where has time gone?

Where has time gone?  Madelyn is 3 years old and Brooks is 18 months old.  We dont have a baby anymore.  I wanted to share these pictures that were taken at the beginning of April.  Mid April, we went to their well check appointments.  They both did great and Brooks was the only one that had to have shots.  I wish you could hear Madelyn as soon as we walk into the doctor's office, she says, "Mommy, no shots today right?  It's Brooks' turn?".  The nurses get a kick out of this.  She will make him get shots over herself any day!!!  Oh, the love of a brother and sister.  Madelyn weighs 29 pounds and is 35 3/4 inches tall and Brooks weighs 21 pounds & 8 ounces and is 32 inches tall.

Happy Easter

We had an awesome Easter weekend!  We are so glad that we serve a risen Savior!!!  It is so cute to hear Madelyn talk about Jesus and how He died on the cross for our sins.  Our weekend started with a church play group egg hunt at our house Friday morning.  We had a good turnout and the children had a blast hunting eggs and most of all looking at all the goodies inside the eggs.  On Friday night, Patrick and I had a date night (a nice dinner and then we went to see Wicked).  It was great!  On Saturday, we died eggs with Madelyn and Brooks.  Brooks was so funny because he would throw (literally) the eggs in the colored water and it would splash everywhere (typical boy stunt, I guess).  Then we did a little family egg hunt.  There was coins in the eggs this time and they got to give that money they hunted to Jesus on Easter as an offering.  The Easter Bunny visited our house and they loved what he brought.  On Easter, we went to church and had an awesome service and then enjoyed brunch with my sister's family at Cracker Barrel.  We ended the weekend, having a BIG dinner with some good friends/neighbors at our house.  We had honey baked ham, several casseroles, deviled eggs, etc.  Yum, Yum!!!
I love this face!!!
