Madelyn and Brooks' Surgery

Madelyn and Brooks had their adenoids removed and tubes put in this morning.  Since they took out the adenoids they had to put them completely under (gas, IV, tube in throat - the whole works).  Yuck!!  BUT, they did awesome.  When we got home, they were still a little loopy but then quickly started playing.  They napped on schedule and then went to bed on schedule.  They were a little extra grumpy tonight but not bad at all.  SO, hopefully if they have anymore ear infections that it will just drain out and we will not have any more doctor co-pays and prescriptions to fill for those infections.  The above picture is Brooks before the surgery in his little gown that was huge on him.  They took him back first and then 20 minutes later came and got Madelyn.
Madelyn getting ready for her surgery.  We talked about it with her, but she of course, still didn't really know what was going on.
Sweet Brooks after the surgery.
Sweet Madelyn after the surgery.  What a sad face!

Taller than me

In the past couple of months, Madelyn has really enjoyed playing with her blocks (even though we have had them forever).  She was so proud the other day when she built a tower that was taller then herself.  It actually stayed in one piece because B man was still napping.

Sweet Friends

Madelyn and two of her friends (Meredith and Caroline) are playing in the floor.  They are within 8 months of each other and play well together.  Madelyn loves her friends.  She randomly talks about all of friends during the week.  She can tell us who is in her class at school and who is in her class at church.  When we drive up to a friends house, she knows who lives there without me saying.  The other day we were driving to pick up a meal and we turned by Whole Foods off of 280 and Madelyn automatically said, "Mommy, are we going to Kate's house?"  It is so funny the things they know at this age.  We thank God everyday for all of our friends.

Brooks loves hanging with the girls!

Madelyn's First Haircut

Madelyn had her first haircut last Saturday (age: 2 years and 10 months).  Her hair just started growing a lot in the past 6 months, so we finally took the plunge and got it cut (or really just trimmed).  She did not love getting it cut, she cried off and on.  She will learn soon that getting your haircut is a relaxing time.  She got a pink sucker at the end and was then very happy.
